In 1944, the Nazis demanded that Plaszów and all its sub-camps, which included Schindler's factory Emalia, which was manned entirely by Jewish workers, to be closed. As a part of the 'Final Solution' Jews were to be sent to Auschwitz, Gross-Rosen or Treblinka extermination camps.
