On March 4, 1941, according to the edict issued by the occupation authorities, the 'Jewish Quarter' was to be set up in the district of Podgórze. All the Jews were forced to move there. March 20 was the deadline. This is the origin of the great 'migration of nations' brought about by Himmler.
